New Media Company Announces 2009 Results ~ Distributing Inspiring Audios Worldwide

Released on: January 27, 2010, 9:55 am
Author: Charlie/Lighthouse Catholic Media, NFP
Industry: Media

In one of the most economically challenging years in memory, Lighthouse Catholic Media, a Not-for-Profit Corporation achieved a milestone in distributing over 975,000 audio CDs in 2009 for a growth rate of 29% over 2008. Since its’ founding in December, 2005 Lighthouse has distributed nearly three million inspiring Catholic CDs worldwide. Media for evangelization?

The Vatican on Saturday, Jan. 23rd issued a positive affirmation of media in the Church: (Zenit.org) Benedict XVI is encouraging Catholics, especially priests, to use media technologies to reach new audiences with the message of God’s love. The Pope affirmed this in a message, released Saturday, for the 44th World Communications Day, which will be celebrated May 16. The theme of the day, “The Priest and Pastoral Ministry in a Digital World: New Media at the Service of the Word,” reflects the Year for Priests currently underway in the Church. The Pontiff affirmed that in digital communications, “priests can discover new possibilities for carrying out their ministry to and for the Word of God. The recent, explosive growth and greater social impact of these media make them all the more important for a fruitful priestly ministry.”

Lighthouse Catholic Media’s CDs are distributed three ways: through their FAITHRAISER Kiosk Program displayed in over 2,400 parishes, Catholic schools and missions, the popular Lighthouse CD of the Month Club Program, and a new portable 16-CD display. The CD of the Month Club is a subscription-based service delivering CDs to individuals at an amazingly low rate of $5/month including postage with brand new titles being introduced monthly by inspiring speakers, both lay and clergy.

Iranian diplomats harass author. Rancho Cucamonga, California 17 Jan 2010—as a team of American control remote viewers was deployed in China to spy on the DPRK’S weapons of mass destruction programs to include the tracking of high-ranking North Korean personnel dealing with the Iranian government, it became clear that both the Iranian President and the North Korean President were being targeted for a possible U.S. – sponsored assassination while Mosques, and Muslim owned businesses and assets were under suspicion too. Operation Caution Dream was a top tier covert operation that was active from 2006-2009. What originally started out as Project Caution Dream which involved a series of double blind tests to screen personnel for C.R.V. skills, became a full blown operation that left an American dead in China. New Push To Promote Marriage For Catholic Priests

Released on: May 19, 2009, 6:57 am
Author: Arbor Books
Industry: Entertainment

Though the debate over celibacy in the Catholic Church has been ongoing, two recent efforts have thrust the discussion front and center.

An organization known as Celibacy Is the Issue Ministries (CITI) is making a renewed effort to prove that married priests can administer the sacrament under Canon Law #843, which states that “both pastors of souls and all other members of Christ’s faithful have a duty to ensure that those who ask for the sacraments are prepared for their reception.”

It’s a practical look at marriage and the priesthood that may convince the Church to reconsider its stance on celibacy—a stance discussed in harrowing detail by a priest whose own battles with celibacy cost him dearly.

Father Ameen (not his real name), a Catholic priest and author of Confessions of a Passionate Priest, believes that fewer parishes would struggle to find priests if the Church were more pragmatic on the issue of celibacy.

“I had an affair with a married woman,” says Father Ameen. “The reality of human nature is that we need intimacy. The Church is failing to address that. ”

In his book, Father Ameen discusses his own punishment at the hands of his bishop after his affair went public. He says he believes that allowing married priests to remain as operating clerics would help to avoid situations like his, which got worse recently when his bishop found out that he had written a book about it. Father Ameen was barred from returning to his parish.

“The Church often looks the other way when priests are having intimate relationships,” says Father Ameen. “They understand, as well as I and CITI do, that marriage does not distract from priestly duties.”Recent statistics may force the Church to admit as much:

• More than 25,000 priests have married in the United States since the 1970s.

• At present, more than 5,300 parishes are without priests.

• In the last thirty years, seminary enrollment has dropped from 45,000 to just 3,500.

“I love the Church, but it does have some rules that serve no one,” says Father Ameen. “I’m proof, as are all married Eastern Rite priests, that one can live in the secular world and still serve God.”

Father Ameen remains dedicated to the priesthood despite his contradiction of specific Church rules. He currently lives in an undisclosed location in the United States, preferring to remain anonymous to avoid recrimination.

Shortage Of Priests Renews Catholic Celibacy Debate

Released on: February 9, 2009, 5:21 am

(Marion, MA)—Catholic priests are in short supply in recent years, a reality that has renewed the debate over celibacy. According to a recent study, many current priests are already ignoring the order altogether.

A poll of 800 Polish priests revealed that many are ignoring the Church’s ban on intimate relationships. More than fifty percent said they wanted to live with a woman and a third admitted to having sex. It’s a dark secret one priest working in America kept for years—before writing about it in his new book.

Father Ameen (not his real name), an Eastern Rite Catholic priest for the last eighteen years and author of Confessions of a Passionate Priest, had an affair with a married woman. When the relationship was exposed to his bishop, Father Ameen was punished harshly because it brought the threat of a lawsuit from the woman’s husband, a scandal the Church didn’t want.

“Is consensual sex a sin?” Father Ameen asks. “Or has Church doctrine failed to address not only our contemporary lives but the reality of human need?”

Father Ameen reveals in his book that his affair was only exceptional in that it brought the threat of a lawsuit. Among the numerous scandals the Pope has had to deal with, the increasing number of non-celibate priests has been largely overlooked.

“The Church would have looked the other way, as it often does,” says Father Ameen, “except that her husband threatened to file a lawsuit.”

During his affair, Father Ameen spearheaded the building of a noted assisted-living facility at no cost to the Church and ministered to his flock with enthusiasm and dedication. “The idea that a secular life distracts us from our priestly duties is nonsense,” he says. “I was never more productive as a priest than when I was also happy in my personal life.”

In recent years, some revealing statistics have surfaced about Catholic priests:
• In the last fifty years, 20,000 priests have left the priesthood in the United States, the majority to marry.
• More than 160 priests in the Milwaukee Roman Catholic Archdiocese have signed a petition urging that celibacy be optional in the priesthood and sent it to the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
• Journalist and Church scholar Adam Szostkiewicz has said he believes “It is an absurd idea to continue with the celibate for the Catholic Church. I’m not expecting any changes under the current Pope, Benedict XVI, but something will have to change after him.”
• At any one time, twenty percent of priests are involved in sexual relationships and eight percent are experimenting sexually.

“I love the Church, but it does have some rules that serve no one,” says Father Ameen. “I’m proof, as are all the married Eastern Rite priests, that one can live in the secular world and still serve God.”

Father Ameen remains dedicated to the priesthood, despite his contradiction of specific Church rules. He currently lives in an undisclosed location in the United States, preferring to remain anonymous to avoid recrimination.

Press Release Summary: Preachit.org has been helping pastors come up with sermon outlines since 2002 now hosts over 3000 sermons online with 225 ministers contributing

Press Release Body: Portage, Indiana – February 3rd, 2009 Preachit.org, a leading sermon resource for a fast growing number of pastors hit over 3,000 sermon submissions from its 225 contributors this week. This landmark jump in sermons submitted is a true testament to the commitment of the site owner and his 225 talented, dedicated pastors & ministers who write these in their spare time.

“My vision for this site is to make available thousands of Sermon Outlines and Bible Study helps.” Says Rev. James Smith.

“As a Pastor of a young work for over 6 years, I found it difficult at times to have well prepared messages 3 times a week. As you know, a Pastor’s time is stretched. Especially if he/she works a job outside of their Church. At times, new ideas and thoughts are hard to develop as our minds are often full of the cares of the church.” Says Rev. James Smith

Jim’s simple website doesn’t just stop at sermons. Over the years, he’s added everything from small group resources, church job descriptions for busy pastors looking to hire, church activity planning, how to take up your offering and much more.

Preach It is gifted to have a host of ministers who are getting on board the Sermons/Bible Study contributor team. This team is growing every day, however they are still anxious to have other ministers join in helping build this resource site.

They still have a need for sermons on:
* Doctrine
* Salvation
* Encouragement
* Enrichment

Jim says “Don’t be afraid to submit something. If it was a blessing to your church, it will be a blessing to another.”

Cleveland Minister to Preach Two-Week Sermon Series on Sex in Today’s Culture

Released on: October 17, 2008, 5:18 am

Press Release Author: Angie Dyer

Industry: Education

Press Release Summary: Momentum Christian Church’s Lead Minister, Dan Smith, will be preaching a relevant sermon series on sex in today’s culture October 19th and 26th, 2008.

Press Release Body: Valley View, Ohio — Lead Minister, Dan Smith, at Momentum Christian Church, will be speaking for two weeks on sex, and practical insights from the Bible on this subject, which churches often find taboo. The sermon series, titled “Bringin’ Sexy Back” will run October 19th and 26th.

“It’s no secret that America is saturated with sexuality, but most churches are pretty silent about the issue,” says Smith. “However, the Bible has a lot of really practical insights for people who live in a culture like ours.”

This sermon series won’t feature some lame, naive preacher yelling at people about their past mistakes because — to some degree — everyone has messed up in this area. It will be a lot of relevant, heart-to-heart teaching that will help us better understand why God created such a powerful magic.

The church and its staff have rated the sermons PG-12, but they encourage parents to bring middle school and high school students.

Momentum Christian Church meets at the Cinemark Theatre in Valley View at 10am on Sunday mornings. The service is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Momentum designates itself as “a church for people who hate going to church.” They use rock music, funny videos, and relevant sermons to attract people who have previously thought church was boring and irrelevant.

Smith is a self-proclaimed “storyteller-preacher, comedy-writer, and lead minister of Momentum.” His comedy has been featured on CNN, VH-1, The New York Times, Glenn Beck, and Yahoo! In 2007, he was recognized by Cleveland Magazine as one of Cleveland’s “Most Interesting People.” Some say he’s mildly funny. His Mom thinks he’s very funny. At the very least, he cracks himself up.

Momentum is a non-denominational church located near Cleveland, OH. To learn more, please visit http://www.momentumchurch.com, or to schedule an interview with Dan Smith, please call Angie Dyer at 440-759-0663 or email angiedyer@yahoo.com.

It will have a smaller audience, allowing us the opportunity to interact more with the attendees. Keeping with the Sisters in Christ Ministries vision, we want to reach all women with the message of God’s love”. Delma Gine, Sister in Christ Ministries Founder and President.

Delma Gine has a heart for God’s daughters and is deeply committed to compassionately enriching the lives of today’s women through God’s loving word. In August 1996 God began to burden her with how women today are struggling more than ever with life’s demands and find themselves left feeling overwhelmed and tired. Many of them are single moms and /or victims who have lost all hope. He birthed in her a desire to let women know that wholeness and restoration can take place through Jesus Christ. The vision and the mission came quickly and Sisters in Christ Women’s Conference evolved and was held in February 1997 . Since then the conference has grown in faith, strength and attendance with women from all over the world participating. The boundaries have opened up for us to minister to internationally and the first Sisters in Christ Women’s Conference was held in Cuba in November 2006.

At the Sisters in Christ Ministries Women’s Conference guest speakers share personal testimonies of how with God’s love and grace they have over come tragedies and obstacles in their lives. This open sharing leads directly to understanding that God was there for them and that God is there for each of us.

“Our mission is to minister to women of all denominations in the hope that they are empowered and inspired to create loving Christian homes and to live Christ centered abundant lives”Delma Gine, Sisters in Christ Ministries Founder and President.

Looking at Sisters in Christ Ministries now it has grown from ministering to 100 women to reaching over 1,500. They hold several fundraising/ outreach events to support itself: Sisters in Christ “Faith Walk”, “United in Christ Bike Ride”, and the Sisters Café”. There is a very dynamic Sisters in Christ Ministry Team made up of phenomenally gifted women who work diligently in specialized areas in support of the ministry. Their exceptional leadership skills, faith in action and commitment to serve humbly has been instrumental in the management and growth of Sisters in Christ Ministries.

“My love for the Lord and desire to serve Him is the focal point in my life. Our goal is to continue to reach women with all the tools of the ministry; Workshops, Faith Walk, Motorcycle Ride and the Conference”.-Delma Gine To Communicate with Delma Gine about speaking engagements, to schedule a workshop or to learn more about Sisters in Christ Ministries contact her at : Phone: (770) 562-9668 Email: dgine@SistersInChrist.com
