Blackwell, the leading academic bookseller has announced its favourite books of the decade. The list of ten books, chosen f r o m the many hundreds published over the last ten years, are a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Blackwell booksellers based in shops around the country voted for their favourites, enabling Blackwell to draw on its expert staff to compile a list of its recommendations.
The wide choice of books shows an eclectic mix of titles, including 2 Booker Prize winners and Richard Dawkins controversial God Delusion. Unusually, there is a strong non-fiction representation in the list showing the breadth of Blackwell booksellers reading choices.
Phill Jamieson, Head of Marketing at Blackwell, commented: “Our booksellers have an excellent reputation for their knowledge and love of books. This list backs this up with a thought-provoking selection of titles”.
Blackwell’s choice of books provides some great inspiration for Christmas Books buying, especially those ‘difficult to buy for’ friends and relatives. Phill Jamieson said: “Customers can choose a book f r o m a personally memorable year to make it into a truly thoughtful gift”.
As a unique feature of this promotion, Blackwell has also invited the authors of theBooks of the Decade and those who have featured in its fortnightly Blackwell’s podcast throughout this year to tell of their favourite books of the decade.
