Travellers staying in hotels in Madrid next month will have the chance to soak up some culture at one of Europe’s biggest musical events.
Taking place from November 4th until November 28th, Madrid International Jazz Festival is now in its 26th year and the 2009 edition features a world-class line-up of talented performers.
Some of those set to make an appearance this year include renowned saxophonist Joe Lovano, who will perform at the Teatro Fernan Gomez and American jazz singer Madeline Peyroux.
Roy Hargrove, Richard Bona, Cassandra Wilson, Toni Zenet and Kike Perdomo will also be taking to the stage over the course of the festival.
According to esmadrid.com, a total of 15 clubs across the city will host performances. “There will also be musicians performing on the streets, workshops, and presentations of up-and-coming artists,” the website noted.
As well as attending concerts, visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy cinema screenings.
A number of films featuring exceptional soundtracks will be shown throughout the festival, including The Umbrellas of Cherbourg Breathless.
