Kuala Lumpur – The city of Madrid comes alive this November as the locals and visitors alike welcome the much anticipated Autumn Festival. The month-long event, which takes place from 4th to 29th November 2009, would certainly be exciting news for those who are planning to visit or book Madrid hotels during this time of the year. Organised by the Vice-presidency, Department of Culture and Sport and Government Spokespersons’ Department, the festival attracts thousands from the surrounding areas, Spain and other countries far and wide.

Madrid Autumn Festival, which is celebrating its 26th year, promises world-class performances from 32 companies that would be coming from all over the world. They bring with them quality entertainment and performances which include theater shows, dance and music concerts and contemporary circus productions. Visitors and locals alike would certainly enjoy the packed programme which includes exciting and progressive theatre productions such as ‘Isabella’s Room’ from Jan Lauwers & Need Company, ‘Médée’ from Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers and ‘Pénélope ô Pénélope’ from Tera.

Those who are more interested in the dance and musical performances will not be disappointed with offerings from Rosas with ‘Rosas danst Rosas’, Shiro Takatani with ‘La cámara lúcida’ and the exciting pairing of María Pagés and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui with ‘Dunas’. Taking the stage would also be the Whale Watching Tour and Hanne Hukkelberg from Norway. Contemporary circus shows include ‘Chouf Ouchouf (Look and Look Again)’ from the talented team of Martin Zimmermann, Dimitri de Perrot and 12 acrobats of the Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger. The performances are scheduled to take place in numerous venues in the city including Teatros Del Canal Sala, Teatro De La Abadía and Teatro Español.
