Soaring fuel prices are forcing more consumers to shop on their computers rather than on the high street this Christmas, according to independent price comparison and switching service, uSwitch.com. A 15% rise in petrol prices since last November has pushed the bill for driving to the shops and parking the car up to a staggering £78 million – and that’s before any presents have been bought. As a result, despite the postal strikes that were widely predicted to drive consumers back onto the high street, research amongst uSwitch.com’s consumer panel reveals that over 7 out of 10 (72%) people are doing their Christmas shopping online this year.
The price of petrol, which has climbed from 95p to 109p per litre over the last 12 months has done nothing to help consumers struggling through a tough year. While pressure remains on oil companies to lower prices, the situation is not set to improve imminently. The AA has warned that end of the VAT cut will add an estimated 2.4p per litre to pump prices from January. As a result, shoppers heading onto the high street this Christmas could face fuel bills of up to £8million.

Author: The Hospital Group
The Hospital Group has reported that when it came to women opting for arm and leg lift surgery, arm lifts were the more popular option in 2009, with 38% more women opting for arm lift surgery than for thigh lifts.
The appearance of saggy upper arms can be a consequence of rapid weight loss and can become more apparent with age as the excess skin can start to hang unattractively.
This condition is commonly referred to as “bingo wings” and they are often quite difficult to change with exercise alone. With short-sleeved tops, this condition can cause embarrassment.
A spokesperson for The Hospital Group, said: “Women put more focus on their arms than they do their legs. “Bingo Wings” as they are otherwise known can be major issue for some women, particularly as arms are often more exposed than thighs.”
The Hospital Group can help you achieve slim, toned arms with specialist arm lift surgery to remove the excess skin and tissue and reveal a much sleeker, younger shape.

Kuala Lumpur – The best of the best endurance runners in the world would make a beeline for Singapore come 6 December 2009 to participate in the world-class Singapore Marathon. The event, held on the first Sunday of the month, would see an astounding 50,000 runners hitting the pavement for a chance to grab a total of the US$193,900 prize purse. Participants come from as far as Kenya and Tanzania, the United States, China, Japan, the United Kingdom and many other European and the neighbouring countries. Last year’s event attracted 2700 runners from over 60 countries, a testament to its international reputation. It was certainly a great boost for the Singapore hotels that would have seen good room demand.
Another great turnout is on the card with five categories being offered that ranges from distances of 750m up to 42.195km. They include the Full Marathon (42km), the Half Marathon (21km); the 10km – Men’s and Women’s, 10km Team and the 10km Wheelchair Race. Children are not forgotten with the Kids Dash categories that cater to those 13 years of age and below. Team spirit is also celebrated with the Team categories – Men’s and Women’s, which require each team of 4 – 6 runners to complete a 10km route. Runners can expect a scenic course that is both flat and shaded, taking them from the Esplanade Bridge, passing by some of Singapore’s historical sites, the charming East Coast coastal route, the towering skyscrapers of the Business District of Shenton Way to the finishing line at Padang. The route is especially great for supporters’ participation with many strategic places to watch and cheer their favourite runners.

This Christmas season is not like all the rest, my work shop has been overflowing with toys for months now. Everyone here is busy putting the finishing touches on things. There seems to be more and more good children every year! Here at the North Pole we always keep our Christmas trees decorated and our wreaths on our doors. Everyone here at the North Pole loves to live with the joy of Christmas all year long. But we are always preparing for that special night of celebration – the night when I visit all the good boy’s and girl’s all over the world! It’s a wonderful time indeed.
Just this morning I received a Santa Letter from a special little boy that lives very far away from the North Pole. He wrote to tell me a secret Christmas wish and to ask for a special Christmas gift. Of course Santa doesn’t share secrets so I can’t tell you what this little boy wants for Christmas. But I’ve already checked my list and he has been nice all year long and I know that’s not always easy to do. This little boy always remembers to leave out my favorite snack (cookies) for me on Christmas too! In fact, last year he even left out treats for my reindeer. They get tired and hungry during our long trip to all the good little boy’s and girl’s houses around the world.

StudyStudent.com (http://www.studystudent.com) has published a free e-book, entitled, “Writing Styles for College Students” to help college and university students learn how to master the three most popular (and sometimes troublesome) writing styles — APA Style, Chicago (Turabian) Style and MLA Style.
Any student who has worked on a dissertation, thesis or graduate paper knows the difficulties in following a specific writing style. Students need to follow many writing and
formatting rules as they write their papers. These difficulties include using correct margins, font style and size, pagination, headings and footers; as well as knowing how to cite and format sources, and which specific pages to include.
